Bursting with Northside Viking Pride for the Class of 2020

After an abrupt ending to life as we knew it, one of the most stressful fallouts was for our seniors at North High School. After thirteen years of education, and the promise of a spring semester sparkling with senior pranks, ditch days, prom and an almighty graduation, it was a devastating blow to the Class of 2020. Thanks to Kroenke Sports Charities and the Pepsi Center, alongside the entire North High School faculty, the Viking Class of 2020 was treated to arguably one of the best memories of their entire life on May 28.

The Kroenke family rolled out the purple carpet, donating a glorious balloon entry to the drive-through graduation parade. Students and families were treated to a dazzling welcome by the Nuggets Cheerleaders, furry and hot mascots from the Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids and Denver Nuggets, a drumline and a DJ that kept the party and the wildly decorated cars rolling. A drone camera captured the experience for a lifetime of movie memories by Altitude TV. Teachers held congratulatory signs and screamed with joy as the zigzagging car caravan made their way through the throngs. Tears and cheers filled the day as each graduate received their diploma by Principal Scott Wolf and his Viking “Quaranteam.” With their diploma in one hand, Little Man Ice Cream gave them a final sweet treat in the other as they left the Pepsi Center to embark on their next great adventure. To the amazing class of 2020, you truly defined the Viking Spirit in a year of such adversity. We are so proud of you!  Watch out world, here you come.
