Denver Begins Accepting Applications for ARPA Grants to Support Small Businesses

Small businesses are now eligible to apply through June 13 for grants of up to $15,000 through federal COVID relief funding.

Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) on May 16 announced it has partnered with the Mile High United Way to distribute up to $5 million from the American Rescue Plan Act among various small businesses. The funding is intended for businesses facing challenges that were made worse by the pandemic.

The funding administered through The Business Impact Opportunity Program is designed for small businesses located within Denver’s Neighborhood Recovery Index or operating within specified business sectors with $5 million or less in revenue, according to DEDO.

Applicants may apply for a one-time grant of either $7,500 for businesses with annual gross revenue equal or less than $100,000, or $15,000 for businesses with annual gross revenue equal or greater than $100,001.

Additional application rounds are anticipated later this year, DEDO stated. Applications can be submitted online via the application portal. More information and eligibility requirements can be found on the The Business Impact Opportunity Program website.
