The annual Jeremy Bitner Memorial Run is held in honor of Englewood Police Detective Jeremy Bitner. He loved being a police officer and serving his community. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many. Shareholder Nick Fogel, of Denver-based law firm Burg Simpson, is a founding board member of the Jeremy Bitner Fallen Officer Fund. The Fund was created in honor of Detective Bitner and provides assistance to the families of fallen officers. This year, the Bitner Fund has approved a donation to the family of El Paso County Deputy Jeff Hopkins. Officer Hopkins lost his life in April of 2020 due to complications related to COVID-19, which he contracted in the line of duty.
